Welcome to Roman IT Services and romanit.us.
By using this website or hiring Roman IT Services, you agree to the terms below. Don’t worry—we tried to keep the legal language to a minimum. Life is already complicated enough when the Wi-Fi stops working.
1. What We Do
Roman IT Services provides IT and technology services that may include:
IT support and troubleshooting
Computer, workstation, server, printer, and network setup
Wi-Fi and network services
Website design and hosting
Domain registration and management
Email and phone services
Security devices and related technology
IT consulting and management
Emergency IT service calls
Specific services, prices, and project requirements may be agreed upon separately with the customer.
In simple terms: if it has wires, Wi-Fi, an IP address, a login screen, or suddenly decides not to cooperate, there’s a good chance we can help.
2. Estimates and Pricing
Prices may be provided as estimates before work begins. An estimate is an educated prediction—not a sacred promise carved into a server rack.
Sometimes technology has surprises.
If additional work, equipment, licensing, subscriptions, replacement parts, or third-party services are required, we will try to let you know before additional charges are incurred.
3. Payment
Payment is due according to the invoice or agreement provided for the service.
Some services—including hosting, domains, software, cloud services, phone services, maintenance, and support plans—may involve recurring charges.
Late or unpaid invoices may result in suspension of services.
Unfortunately, servers cannot survive on compliments alone.
4. Third-Party Services
Some services we provide depend on third-party companies, including domain registrars, hosting companies, Internet providers, software vendors, cloud providers, phone carriers, payment processors, and equipment manufacturers.
Their own terms, pricing, availability, and policies may apply.
Roman IT Services cannot control a third-party company's outages, policy changes, price increases, discontinued products, or mysterious decision to change a perfectly good interface overnight.
5. Domains, Hosting, Email & Cloud Services
Customers are responsible for keeping their account and contact information current.
Domain names and other subscription-based services must be renewed on time. We may assist with renewals and management when those services are part of our agreement, but customers remain responsible for applicable charges.
If you receive an email saying your domain expires tomorrow after ignoring seventeen previous reminders, please contact us quickly. Miracles are not officially listed among our services, but we’ll see what we can do.
6. Backups and Your Data
Before major repairs, upgrades, migrations, installations, or system changes, customers should maintain a current backup of important data.
We take reasonable care when working with customer systems. However, hardware can fail, drives can die, files can become corrupted, and occasionally computers simply choose chaos.
Unless backup services are specifically included in your agreement, Roman IT Services does not guarantee that customer data can always be recovered.
Please back up anything you cannot afford to lose.
Twice is even better.
7. Passwords and Security
Customers are responsible for protecting their passwords, authentication information, and account credentials unless credential management is specifically included as part of our service.
We strongly recommend secure passwords and multi-factor authentication.
“password123” is not a security strategy.
8. Security Services
We can install, configure, and recommend security products and practices designed to reduce risk.
However, no computer, network, website, security camera, firewall, antivirus product, or cybersecurity system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
If somebody tells you otherwise, protect your wallet first.
9. Customer Equipment
We will take reasonable care while working with your equipment.
Roman IT Services is not responsible for failures caused by existing damage, aging equipment, defective components, manufacturer defects, malware, unsupported software, improper previous installations, electrical problems, Internet outages, or other conditions outside our reasonable control.
Sometimes the computer was already having a bad day before we arrived.
10. Emergency Service Calls
Emergency and after-hours IT support may be available depending on scheduling and technician availability.
Emergency service may involve different rates or minimum charges, which will be communicated when applicable.
Calling something an emergency does not automatically make the laws of physics move faster—but we will do our best.
11. Websites
Customers are responsible for the legality and accuracy of content they provide for their websites, including text, images, trademarks, logos, products, and other materials.
Customers should only provide content they own or have permission to use.
We build websites.
We do not want to meet your copyright attorney.
12. Acceptable Use
Our services may not be used for illegal activities, unauthorized access to systems, distribution of malware, fraud, spam, copyright infringement, or other unlawful purposes.
If your project begins with:
“Technically, is this legal?”
...we may have some additional questions.
13. Service Availability
We work hard to keep systems and services operating properly, but uninterrupted operation cannot always be guaranteed.
Maintenance, Internet outages, hardware failures, software bugs, cyberattacks, utility failures, third-party outages, and other circumstances may occasionally interrupt service.
Even the Internet needs a coffee break sometimes.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Roman IT Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from the use or inability to use our services, including loss of data, business, revenue, or productivity.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
15. Warranty
We stand behind the work we perform and will make reasonable efforts to correct problems directly related to our work.
However, we cannot guarantee that equipment, software, Internet connections, third-party services, or previously existing systems will continue operating indefinitely.
Technology has never signed a contract promising to behave.
16. Cancellation and Scheduling
Please provide reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Repeated cancellations, missed appointments, or last-minute changes may result in additional charges when significant time or resources have already been reserved.
Our calendar also has feelings.
17. Changes to These Terms
Roman IT Services may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time as our services, technology, or legal requirements change.
The latest version will be posted on romanit.us with an updated revision date.
We promise not to make you click “I Agree” every Tuesday.
